EOC Mission Partners Christmas Wish Lists

We asked East Ohio Conference Advance Special ministry partners to provide a list of needs the people they serve have this Christmas season. Might you and your church family be able to help fulfill some of these Christmas wishes? Doing so will be life-changing for you and for those whom you support with your generosity. There are a wide range of items on the Christmas wish lists from soap, pillows, onesies, paper towels, and toiletries to soccer balls, gift cards, educational opportunities, and summer camp tuition.
Please keep in your prayers this Christmas season, each of these organizations, their volunteers, and the people they serve. All Advances can also receive monetary donations through their respective Conference funds.

Will Fenton-Jones to serve East Ohio and West Ohio Conferences as Director of Multicultural Ministries
By EOC News on December 13, 2024
Will Fenton-Jones, East Ohio Conference director of Multicultural Ministries, will now also serve in that capacity in the West Ohio Conference of The United Methodist Church, effective January 2, 2025. This shared staff position will serve both East Ohio and West Ohio Conferences, marking a first for both organizations.
“I am so excited to begin this journey with United Methodists in working toward beloved community,” Fenton-Jones said. “It feels good to be part of a statewide team. I cannot wait to learn about and resource the innovative ways faith communities throughout Ohio are working toward a just and equitable world.”

Fenton-Jones brings a wealth of experience in fostering diverse, inclusive faith communities and promoting cultural competence within church leadership. With over 15 years of experience in ministry, he has served in various leadership roles, including his current position as director of Multicultural Ministries for the East Ohio Conference of The United Methodist Church. His expertise includes developing programs that celebrate diversity, supporting marginalized communities and creating spaces where all can experience the love of Christ.
“We appreciate Will’s passion for this important work and his willingness to step out in faith,” said the Rev. Karen Cook, West Ohio director of Connectional Ministries. “We look forward to the impact of his leadership across the state.”
As director of Multicultural Ministries, Fenton-Jones will lead efforts to strengthen relationships across both conferences, working with local churches and leaders to build a more inclusive and vibrant church community.
Instrumental in guiding initiatives that support congregations in becoming more welcoming to people of all backgrounds, he will provide resources for education, advocacy and spiritual growth in the areas of diversity, equity and inclusion.
“Will is a talented servant of Jesus Christ,” said the Rev. Ed Fashbaugh, executive director of Connectional Ministries in East Ohio. “As the newly formed Ohio Episcopal Area, we are happy to work with West Ohio in finding new and creative ways to be in ministry together to serve Jesus Christ.”
Bishop Hee-Soo Jung is pleased with this cross-conference partnership. When he began his assignment in the Ohio Episcopal Area, Bishop Jung encouraged the staff teams of the East Ohio and West Ohio Conferences to dream new dreams of ministry. “God is doing a new thing in Ohio Land,” he said. “We keep leading toward unity and collaboration together. Please join me in praying for Will and all who will be shaped by his ministry.”
